Pinning and Welding
Modify your barrel to rifle-length
Aardwolf Solutions offers pinning and welding services, permanently affixing muzzle devices to your rifle barrels, ensuring that your firearm meets the minimum legal length requirements according to the NFA/GCA.
Customers have the option of bringing their own muzzle devices or ordering a muzzle device through Aardwolf Solutions.
We charge $100 for a Pin and Weld and typically have the job done next-day.
Customers should make the following preparations prior to dropping their belongings off for a Pin and Weld
- Make sure only the necessary components are installed. For example, AR barrels should be installed onto the upper receiver with a gas block and a gas tube and the handguare should be removed. Customers should dry-fit the muzzle device to ensure the handguard can be reinstalled after the muzzle device is installed.
- Welds can leave behind a signature "bubble" from the TIG rod. Some customers prefer to leave the bubble behind, while others prefer to have it ground off and painted over. Specify how you would like it finished.
- Specify how you would like your barrel finished. Aardwolf Solutions can grind the weld marks and apply cold blue and spraypaint.
- If your muzzle device requires timing, we may need to leave timing shims in between the muzzle device and the barrel. The welding process may melt and deform the shims near the pin. While this effect may be visually unappealing, it only affects the underside of the barrel and does not affect function.
